Membership

We know you believe in PILLAR and its mission to offer educational programs to the retirees and other interested individuals in the Pikes Peak Region.  It takes more than luck to keep PILLAR afloat.  Class fees are kept modest in order to make classes affordable, thus class fees do not cover all the operating expenses and allow little room for growth.  We hear from you what a great asset PILLAR is to the community and how it has enhanced your life.  We need you to help support this valuable educational program today and for the future.

Membership Definitions

Individual Membership: Membership includes reductions in class fees to all classes, trips and tours, membership in Philosophical Café, invitation to “Member Only” events, special mailings regarding upcoming events and free subscription to the Pillar Preview catalog.

Couples Membership: Membership includes two memberships for the household or single mailing address, reductions in class fees to all classes, trips and tours for both members, two memberships in Philosophical Café, invitation to “Member Only” events, special mailings regarding upcoming events and free subscription to the Pillar Preview catalog.

Sustaining Membership (Two Years): Membership for a two-year period, reductions in class fees to all classes, trips and tours, membership in Philosophical Café, invitation to “Member Only” events, special mailings regarding upcoming events and free subscription to the Pillar Preview catalog.

Quarterly Membership Dues: Membership to be paid quarterly with credit card, bank automatic withdrawal or automatic payment agreement and includes reductions in class fees to all classes, trips and tours, membership in Philosophical Café, invitation to “Member Only” events, special mailings regarding upcoming events and free subscription to the Pillar Preview catalog.

PILLAR has several enhanced membership options:

Bronze - For those who contribute $100 or more, you will receive one individual membership, we will add your name to the Bronze Member list in each quarterly PILLAR Preview and send you coupons for five free two-hour classes that you can use personally or give as a gift to a friend.

Silver - For those who contribute $250 or more, you will receive two individual memberships, we will add your name to the Silver Member list in each quarterly PILLAR Preview and send you coupons for eight free two-hour classes that you can use personally or give as a gift to a friend.

Gold - For those who contribute $500 or more, you will receive two individual memberships, we will add your name to the Gold Member list in each quarterly PILLAR Preview and send you coupons for ten free two-hour classes that you can use personally or give as a gift to a friend.

Platinum - For those who contribute $1000 or more, you will receive two individual memberships, we will add your name to the Platinum Member list in each quarterly PILLAR Preview and send you coupons for twelve free two-hour classes that you can use personally or give as a gift to a friend.

You may donate your surplus memberships and/or class certificates to our Scholarship Fund for those unable to afford our class offerings. Donation amount in excess of regular membership is tax deductible.

Did you retire from a company that offers volunteer incentives?

Exxon/Mobil is one example of a company that offers a Volunteer Incentive Program. For each twenty hours of volunteer service to a non-profit organization per quarter, they donate $500 to the recipient organization. Be sure to contact the firm you retired from, even if they have since been re-organized or purchased by another company. They just may have a similar program. We are happy to work with you to explore this opportunity. It is a great way to volunteer and raise money for PILLAR.
